Gone are the days where brides need to wait weeks and weeks to get wedding photos and videos back. With wedding content creators on the rise, brides can now hire these gurus to create and post wedding content in real-time and after your big day! There’s this pressure nowadays to post EVERYTHING. And there are trends for just about everything too. For couples who want a phone free wedding day to be fully present, but also want to share their big day online, a wedding content creator might be exactly what you need!
So what is a wedding content creator anyway?
A wedding content creator is there to capture, edit, and post photos and videos on primarily TikTok and Instagram! They’ll know how to get the best angles, what audio and video trends are on the rise, and know how to get you the perfect transitions! They’ll post your wedding content in real time (if that’s what you agree on) and take all of your followers through your wedding day with you.
It’s important to note that these social content creators are NOT a replacement for professional photographers and videographers, they’re an addition to make your day even more memorable!

How do I find a wedding content creator?
Skip the Google search and head straight to TikTok and Instagram! Search up a few hashtags like #weddingcontentcreator or #eventcontentcreator and see what you can find. Many content creators will travel since there aren’t that many of them out there yet!
How much does it cost to hire a content creator?
This will vary from person to person, but you should expect to pay at least $1,000. Their work goes beyond taking a few iPhone photos, as they will work with you before, during, and after your wedding! Before the wedding you’ll conceptualize ideas together to make sure you’re on the same page about what your content will look like (aesthetics, your taste in trends, etc.). On your wedding day, they’ll be working with you for hours, sometimes working from the moment you start getting ready until the end of the night. And afterwards they’ll be editing your content and delivering them to you quickly!
Questions to ask a wedding content creator before booking
What does your content style look like?
Before you book your meeting, have an idea in mind of what you want your content to look like. Take screenshots and screen recordings of existing content you want to take inspiration from! Just like how some photographers use flash and some don’t, your wedding content creator will most likely have a style they lean towards. Make it known if you like Instagram or TikTok more! Both apps have very different styles when it comes to making videos. For example, TikTok heavily uses interesting transitions and trending audios while Instagram tends to be less cheeky and more into “clean” looking videos and highlight reels.
Can I see some samples of your past work?
Content creators are going to have a portfolio you can look at just like any other wedding professional would. Since they post on other people’s accounts, you’re mostly going to be looking at their past client’s accounts and not the content creators! It’s important you take a look at their past works and compare it to what you’re looking to create on your wedding day to make sure they’re a good fit for you!
What equipment do you use?
This answer will vary from person to person, but they will all have something similar to this: a phone (or multiple phones), chargers, lights, tripods, phone gimbals, etc. If they’re just starting out they may not have every one of these items, and that’s totally fine! Some content creators work with less equipment, but still create just as beautiful outcomes.
How will we pre-plan together?
You’ll have several meetings set up with your content creator to talk about your love story, inside jokes, favorite fonts, your music taste, trend preferences, favorite colors, and more! By your wedding day they’ll know exactly the vibe to go for.
Tip: make sure to mention if there’s any part of the day you do NOT want to be documented.
What content will I receive and when?
This will depend on what type of packages your content creator offers! A basic package may just look like taking iPhone photos and videos of the day and air-dropping them to you. While higher priced packages may include posting in real-time on TikTok and Instagram, drafting TikTok posts for you to put out there whenever you want, and with a quick turnaround time, sending you an abundance of edited content that’s ready to post to your socials!
How will you work alongside my photographer and videographer?
It’s really important to read over your photography contract to see if they have any stipulations about having any other media services present. They will include this so their team’s work is uninterrupted, which totally makes sense! Since social media content creators are a new thing to the wedding world, they shouldn’t fall into that category, but it’s still a good idea to check with your photographer and/or videographer just in case! Your wedding content creator isn’t there to compete with these other media teams, but to work alongside them. To make sure everyone is on the same page on the day of your wedding, make sure to connect your photographer, videographer, and wedding content creator so they can prepare beforehand how they’ll work together!
