It was everything we dreamed of and was well worth the wait of rescheduling due to Covid19 gathering restrictions. We couldn’t imagine our big day without our favorite people.
Our ceremony was performed by our youth pastor. We chose to do a “Foot washing” ceremony in resemblance of how both Brandon and I met on a mission trip where he washed my feet. We even included our two fur babies in the ceremony & they humored us by using the foot washing bowl as their water bowl.
For our reception, we didn’t do the traditional activities like garter toss, dollar dance, and bouquet toss. We had a “Who Takes the cake?” competition raising money for a local charity and an anniversary dance.
Our first look was by far our favorite, like many brides I was going back and forth on whether or not I wanted to do a “First Look.” I Highly Recommend.
The weather was a perfect- sun was shining. We had a little breeze which made for perfect willow tree and cathedral veil photos. It truly was magical.
Love your vendors! I can’t express that enough. It’s so important to get to know your vendors & build a relationship with them. It truly makes for a more personal flow to the day! It makes them feel more as guests verse there to work. Another piece of advice, I may add would be listen to your gut. If you’ve already booked with a vendor and things aren’t going as planned leading up to your big day! It’s ok to choose someone else! It’s your day!
Nothing is going to go as scheduled. Allow buffer time- your day is so busy & it’s not worth stressing about the timeline day of. Everything will happen in the end. Enjoy every second!
If I were to make any changes to our big day- it would include utilizing more event rental businesses! Most of my decorations were DIY and they were lovely- but in the end it the decorations weren’t much cheaper than renting! Plus your style changes as you wedding plan- you don’t have to commit to buying something by using rentals!
