To say our day was perfect is an understatement. Everything we planned for months and months came together in a way that was better than we ever imagined. Our wedding was at the historic Inn at Stonecliffe on Mackinac Island. This island is unique in a variety of ways. When you get there, it is like you are back in time. The vintage and relaxed feel of the island was portrayed in our wedding. The venue over looks the Mackinaw Bridge and the crystal clear waters of the Straits of Mackinac.
Surrounded by our closest friends and family, we said I Do in the gorgeous grotto, and ended the ceremony with a romantic carriage ride through the island.
It is hard to pick my favorite moment of the day. If I had to pick just one it would be the carriage ride after the ceremony. This was a time for me and my husband to just be together and soak in the day. When wedding planning, many people tell you that it goes quick, and you barely get to see your new spouse on the day of the wedding. We did not want that. The day is supposed to be a celebration of us, and the thought of not really seeing Drew throughout the day was not what I imagined on our wedding. The carriage ride was perfect. We were given a plate of appetizers from our amazing wedding coordinator, Becky, to take with us on the ride. We got to spend our first hour as Mr. and Mrs. on a carriage taking us around the gorgeous island.
I know everyone says to enjoy the process of wedding planning, it goes by quick, but they are right! Is it stressful? Yes! Does family make you crazy? Heck yeah. But, the excitement and butterflies that you get when it all comes together on your wedding day is indescribable. So, sweat the small stuff. Relax, and realize that it will all workout in the end. Trust that you have done all the coordination that is needed, and ask for help when you can! This day is about you and your person celebrating a new chapter of life together.

Enjoy every minute from walking up and having breakfast with your mom to doing a morning run with your bestie before getting ready.
