Q: Tell us about your business! How long have you been in operation, are you family owned, etc.
A: The Waddell Center is an urban industrial venue with a touch of modern in Downtown Grand Rapids. The Waddell Center was acquired by Distinctive Catering in 2012 and renovated into a gorgeous event space, previously having been a music venue. We host weddings, social events, fundraisers, & corporate events! In conjunction with our award-winning catering services provided by West Michigan’s premier caterer, Distinctive Catering, your event is sure to be a success at the Waddell Center!
Q: Why bridal? What can you share about going the extra mile in curating a stress-free experience for a couple’s special day?
A: From start to finish, we are here to assist you during this special event. From your first tour of the space to saying “I Do”, we can offer as much help as you may need. Our event coordinators are just a phone call or email away and our day-of onsite coordinator is happy to assist with anything that you may need on the day of your event so you can be sure to enjoy your day without all the added stress! In addition, we provide a full catering & bar staff for your event who are familiar with the venue & your specific requests.
Q: Do you have any tips or suggestions in educating couples about the wedding industry and planning their special day?
A: Nowadays, searching for wedding vendors online can be very overwhelming- Not only are there hundreds of different vendors to choose from, but each vendor offers several different packages with all kinds of different services included. While options are a good thing, we can understand how this can be overwhelming for brides with no experience planning events of this size before. We recommend finding vendors who offer a multitude of services. For this reason, we try to be a “one stop shop” for all your venue, décor rental, ceremony, catering, & bar service needs.Through the Waddell Center, we can be your go-to contact for all those needs. We even have trusted recommendations we can provide for you when it comes to floral, photography, or DJ services!
Q: How do you stand out from the rest?
A: In addition to keeping your venue, catering, bar service, & décor rental needs all under one roof- We also pride ourselves on providing a beautiful wedding while remaining affordable. Affordability was one value that our owner is not willing to compromise on- We believe that everyone should be able to have the wedding of their dreams without breaking the bank.
Q: Are there any upcoming details you can share about the upcoming season?
A: If we could give one word of advice… Book your events early! Many vendors are still dealing with the rollover from events that were postponed during the pandemic. If you have a specific date in mind, we recommend booking sooner rather than later so then you can start planning the fun details right away and keep stress to a minimum!
