About the Rockwell Lake Lodge
The warm and cozy, 16,000 sqft, Rockwell Lake Lodge is a breath of fresh air, immersed in the serene lakeside and Northern Michigan forest at the Hillsdale College G.H. Gordon Biological Station. Offering both indoor and outdoor settings around its luxurious lodge and surrounding property, Rockwell Lake Lodge is the perfect all-season destination for your wedding and celebration of love.
All Wedding Packages Include:
- Exclusive use of the Rockwell Lake Lodge and grounds
- Lake View lawn or Great Room ceremony
- Overnight lodging in ten suites for one or two nights

Special Accommodations and Amenities
Guests can reserve sleeping accommodations in one of ten spacious luxury guest suites, or experience exquisite gourmet meals prepared by the lodge’s in-house chef in addition to cozying up next to one of the multiple indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Seasonal accommodations are also available in one of four rustic cabins that sleep up to 12 guests each.

Excursion Options and Recreational Fun
Guests are encouraged to enjoy a game of volleyball, soccer, frisbee, croquet, horseshoes, or a round of corn hole.You may also bring your own mountain bike and take the 1.2-mile ride around tranquil Rockwell Lake or go out a little further and enjoy roughly 10 miles of trails.

Skiing (Cross-Country)
Guests may also bring their own skis and snowshoes to enjoy the trails during the winter months! The Rockwell Lake Lodge provides complimentary snowshoes to guests on a first come, first served basis.
Fishing
As a biological station used primarily for research purposes, guests are asked to practice “catch-and-release” with barbless hooks. Just bring your valid Michigan fishing license, or purchase one nearby in the town of Luther. Only watercraft provided by the Lodge is permitted on the lake.

Q: Can you accommodate Wheelchairs?
A: Yes, the Lodge is wheelchair accessible. Please request a handicapped room when making a reservation.
Q: Can I swim in the lake?
A: Yes, it is a clean lake and great to swim in. Life jackets are available.
Q: What boats are available to use?
A: 5 fishing boats with trolling motors, 2 canoes, and 4 kayaks are available for complimentary guest use.
Q: Can I fish on the property?
A: Catch-and-release fishing is available to all guests, who must provide their own fishing equipment. Rockwell Lake features bass, bluegill, and some walleye.
Q: Do you allow snowmobiles or ATV’s?
A: Not on property trails, however you can drive them out of the property to nearby trails.
Q: Do you have firewood?
A: Yes we provide firewood to our guests, we have a bonfire area near the lake. We also have charcoal grills available. In the winter, we also allow the fireplace to be used in the great room.
Q: Do you have mountain bikes for rent?
A: Yes, you can rent mountain bikes at the front desk.
