Kayte & Colin met in Lansing, Michigan in October of 2006. They dated on and off for a few years, as both were in different stages of their lives, until July of 2008 when Colin returned to Michigan from the United States Marine Corp. and Kayte had just finished college.
On Labor Day, September 1st, Colin & Kayte found themselves at the botanical gardens at MSU, where Colin got down on one knee in a gazebo and asked Kayte to make him the happiest man in the world, by being his wife. Kayte accepted immediately and they set off to tell their families!
A Wedding date of Saturday, October 18th, 2008 was set… “Sweetest Day!”
Kayte made her way over to Weddings by Nicole, Inc. in Lansing and spoke with Nicole for a few minutes; she was amazed at all of her great ideas, even though there was only 7 weeks to pull off their dream wedding! Kayte set up a time to come in and begin the planning process with Nicole & team.
The Wedding Ceremony took place outdoors at the Veteran’s Memorial Gardens in Holt, Michigan and the Wedding reception was in the Lincoln room at The Kellogg Center in East Lansing, Michigan. It was a beautiful day-- partly sunny and 55 degrees in mid-October! A breathtaking sky told the rest of the story of this very special day!
Kayte was overwhelmed with the professionalism of her vendors: “I could have never pulled off such a great day without Nicole! She made everything I wanted happen, no matter how hard she had to work, or how far she had to search. Anything she couldn’t get me, she found an even BETTER alternative for!”
The details of the wedding were captured by Marvin Hall of Marvin Hall Photography. “We knew we were making an investment and it was well worth it. Marvin exceeded our expectations and when we look at our wedding photos, we feel like we are reliving our special day all over again!”

After everything is said and done, it is the care and attention to detail that will allow your memories to be brought to life long after the wedding cake has been cut and the wedding dress has been put away.
Kayte & Colin planned to move to San Diego, California, where Colin was going to be stationed and where the two would make their home together. In March of 2009, Colin was sent to Japan with the United States Marine Corps., where he would be stationed until September of 2009, almost a full year from their big day! The couple are planning their 1-Year Anniversary and honeymoon by going to some place tropical!
