Brendan + Gina
Gina met Brendan during her first week living in Washington, D.C. After relocating to the city, Gina’s friend from the Peace Corps introduced her to her old running partner, Brendan. Just as expected, they were a perfect match. One evening, as the couple was on their way to the Kennedy Center to see the ballet, Brendan pulled out a little red box with the most beautiful ring Gina had ever seen. After the “yes” and the ballet, the planning began! Gina & her mother contacted Nicole Dungey of Weddings by Nicole in Lansing, Michigan to start the planning process. Together, their goal was to create a classic, romantic, and traditional wedding with a lot of personal touches throughout. Brendan & Gina wanted to keep the guest count on the smaller side, to allow for a more quaint setting, so they could really enjoy the company of everyone. The wedding ceremony took place at St. John Student Parish on the campus of MSU, where Gina attended graduate school. Gina wore a beautiful gown, veil & headpiece, shoes, and jewelry - all from Fantastic Finds in Lansing. She also wore her great-grandmother’s engagement ring, which her mother also wore on her wedding day. This was a special piece of history that she was honored to wear; and hopefully, one day, a tradition she may pass along to a daughter of her own. The wedding reception took place at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing, overlooking the Red Cedar River and the MSU campus. The Lincoln Room, surrounded by windows, was just the right size for a quaint setting. The gorgeous cake, from The Cakery in Lansing, was classic, unique and, of course, delicious! The food, provided by the Kellogg Center, was excellent and the staff was amazing. All of the moments of that perfect August day were captured exquisitely by Marvin Hall of Marvin Hall Photography...from the special moments leading up to the actual wedding to dancing on the roof under the moonlight. Gina and Brendan honeymooned in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands and recently moved to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and are enjoying the opportunity to live and travel in Africa.
